CF Charity walk - Biked into the walk.  Runned the walking course.

Chickened out and got a ride home instead of riding in the rain.

We stood the mast on the sailboat we race on tonight.  We're getting close to ready to go.  We just have to get the new traveller installed.

Scheduled rest day.

Tonight is the last fish fry of the season.  So it's beer, euchre, fried fish and baked beans one last time until September!!  Believe me I will make the best of it.

I'm still just a bit tender from Monday's run.  This seems rediculous.  I think I will have to change up my training to include some longer distances in Z3 and Z4 during runs to try to strengthen my calves.  They don't bother me on long Z2 runs.

Training may take a hit on the weekend.  I have a lot of things to do around the yard.  It's time to finish some of the projects that we've started.

- finish staining the deck
- get the new awning installed on the camper
- clean out chicken pen
- weed eat
- Unload wood from trailer
- patch holes in sailboat
- finish sanding sailboat
- add layer of fibreglass to rudder of sailboat
- sand and finish rudder
- tape sailboat to prepare for priming
- prime sailboat (2-3 coats)
- sand sailboat again
- paint sailboat (3-4 coats)
- fix neighbours lawn mower  (new belts and oil change)
- go to the dump
- man the BBQ for local CF Fundraiser
- put rotortiller back on lawnmower
- rotortill garden

I wish I didn't type that list out.  It's depressing.  I'm sure there are things I forgot to add to the list too.

Nice ride on a VERY windy night. I couldn't resist a few short speed bursts. I made it up to 28-30 mph for a short time. This bike flies!

Still a little sore from Monday's race.  I'm debating extending my bike ride and skipping tonights run as a result.  I feel I could run, but I'm not sure it will help the recovery effort.   Plus I'm looking for excuses to get time in the saddle on my new bike.

I should also add that I still have trouble with the saddle on the P2C after 45 minutes.  It's not unbearable, but really uncomfortable.  I hope this begins to go away soon.

Calves are still sore from Monday's run.  Walking is tough if I have been sitting a while.

Bought a new riding lawn mower after work today.  That hurts the racing fund!  Oh well, cutting the grass with the push mower "cuts" into training time!   We used to have a rider, but it died at the end of last season and we're just getting around to replacing it.

First real ride on the new P2C. Easy Z1-Z2 spin.

I'm a bit sore and tired from yesterday's race.
My calves hurt the worst.

Hopefully later today will be my first outdoor ride on my new bike.
If my legs hold out that is.

First impression of P2C:
- bike is really tall, almost awkwardly so
- it was a bit twitchy at first
- very smooth ride on good pavement and average pavement
- Rough ride over poor pavement or pavement joints
- smooth shifting and pedaling.
- very fast; much faster than my old bike at the same effort level
- saddle was uncomfortable after 1.5 hours, I likely just need some time to adjust

I PB'd my race today by a little over 4 minutes!
