Wife and I took MTB ride with dogs in trailer. We went for small ice cream cones which we shared with the dogs. That may almost defeat the purpose of the ride, but hey, we were out there.

I'm really trying to keep this fun while I attempt to hook my wife on the Tri lifestyle.

Well, last night was a great first night of sailing.  New main sail, calm water, light breeze.
We squeeked out a win.  We had a reasonable start, rounded the 1/2 way bouy in 4th, found clean air and took over on the way home!  A successful night.

I managed to get a quick swim and weight session in this morning before work. to make up for not swimming last night.

Wed night club racing.
First race: First win!

Well, I slept better last night.  Woke up feeling refreshed instead of tired.  That has to be a good thing.

Started planting the garden and cut the grass last night.

UPDATE:  SAILBOAT RACING STARTS TONIGHT!!
The boat that my wife and I crew on is finally in the water, and back together ready to join the local club racing scene tonight!!  Now the only question is how will I manage to get my scheduled swim in today?

Short bike ride with my wife. Her first time on her bike in a bit. A nice night for a ride.

My wife joined "the club" for the first time tonight. She fell while trying to clip into her pedals. She was having trouble snapping in and pushed just a bit too hard, it went in but the sudden shift in weight caused her to fall over. Just a small scrape on her knee, nothing else hurt but her pride. She was laughing about how stupid it was. I guess that's a good thing.

I haven't slept worth anything the last few nights.  I go to bed at a decent time and get up at my usual time.  I'm tired when I go to bed, and seem just as tired when I get up.  I also don't wakeup in the morning like I usually do.   I have felt groggy until 10am or so the last couple of days.  Today is starting out the same.  The last few weeks has been the start of a taper so I don't think it could be overtraining.  I hope it goes away soon.

An Aunt of mine died yesterday.  I went to the visitation last night.  She was 97, and lived at home by herself until she went into the hospital last week with heart failure.  She kept repeating "I can't believe this is happening".  Healthy as can be into her late 90's, then quickly passes on.  I can't think you could wish for anything more.

CF Charity walk - Biked into the walk.  Runned the walking course.

Chickened out and got a ride home instead of riding in the rain.

We stood the mast on the sailboat we race on tonight.  We're getting close to ready to go.  We just have to get the new traveller installed.

Scheduled rest day.

Tonight is the last fish fry of the season.  So it's beer, euchre, fried fish and baked beans one last time until September!!  Believe me I will make the best of it.

I'm still just a bit tender from Monday's run.  This seems rediculous.  I think I will have to change up my training to include some longer distances in Z3 and Z4 during runs to try to strengthen my calves.  They don't bother me on long Z2 runs.

Training may take a hit on the weekend.  I have a lot of things to do around the yard.  It's time to finish some of the projects that we've started.

- finish staining the deck
- get the new awning installed on the camper
- clean out chicken pen
- weed eat
- Unload wood from trailer
- patch holes in sailboat
- finish sanding sailboat
- add layer of fibreglass to rudder of sailboat

I wish I didn't type that list out.  It's depressing.  I'm sure there are things I forgot to add to the list too.
