Z2 run

Short (and hot) run to loosen up the legs.  A little more fatigue in the legs from the long ride this weekend than what I really thought I had.  Will run more in the morning.
Yes, I am going to run today!

Travel day to Va Beach.  Hopefully, I can find time to run after I get settled.
Supposed to run today, but may push till after I arrive in Va. Beach tomorrow.  Too much to do around the house in prep for my trip.

Popped the cherry!

Longest ride ever!!!

I really needed this.  My bike mileage has been low due to weather, work and any other excuse that I could use.  This was my last big week before the IMAZ taper begins, and I was lucky enough to have the weather in my favor for once.  Great day to ride.  Too bad that I didn't have any of my normal riding partners with me.  Actually, that is not exactly true, because Lisa (twolives) was nice enough to come out and ride 23 miles with me early in the day.  However, if you can do the math, that left damn near 85 miles to ride alone!  But it had to be done....and it was.  At the 70 mile point I was averaging close to 18 mph, but the last 37.7 miles were into the wind and up hill the majority of the way.  I saw a lot of 13s, 12s, and even some 9's at a time.  That took a mental toll on me, but over all it was a great ride.  My first century...and a huge confidence builder for IMAZ.  Nutrition was working pretty damn good too, so I think I am good to go there too.  Got to love it when it finally all begins to come together.

 

and yes....I am having a beer right now!  :)

I just couldn't get motivated to run this one.  The body was tired and I wanted to be well rested for my century ride.
Easy run (4-6 miles) after work,
then it is rest time before the long weekend. 

Looks like I get to do my 100 mile ride alone tomorrow.  :(
