I wanted to go 2 hours on the CT to make up for some lost bike time, but after I reached the 1:15 mark, I realized that my coach was much smarter than I and that 2 hours on the trainer tonight would be the mental death of me. I aren't that smart to begin with...
Swim
1h 00m
3325.00 yards
01m 48s /100 yards
Nice easy/slow continuous swim alternating pull and free every 500.
Good swim. Ignored the prescribed swim and decided to do an hour continuous swim instead. Computrainer ride later tonight.Oh yeah...forgot to say...Lane is going to San Diego on Sunday for a week. Yeah baby!!! Looks like a run focus week with a few cold OW swims....but finally some good weather.
Still no strength/endurance. Damn, this cold took more out of me than I thought. Not to mention that I have been off the bike for a couple of weeks, so sitting on the Computrainer for a couple of hours got old real quick too. Gonna try a constant build to be back at full speed by the next weekend.
OK, disregard everything written below. Right as I was headed out the door, I got a call and had to go help a friend, so that prevented me from getting in my long run and swim. I did do a short run once I got back home, which turns out to be a good sign as I have realized that I am not fully recovered from the cold. Stuffy head, sinus aches have returned and I have very little energy. Going to rest and hope for a better day tomorrow. Most likely going to move my long ride indoors to stay out of the cold/wind. Endurance pain session on the Computrainer tomorrow... :(
And I didn't even get my Moe's either! :( :(
Lazy morning so far, but that will change shortly. Got to get a shower then it is out the door for my 2:45 Z2 run then a recovery swim. I think I will add a Moe's refueling stop right in the middle of those two workouts! :)
400 pull, 2 x 200 (3:14/3:16)
300 pull, 2 x 150 (2:23/2:28)
200 pull, 2 x 100 (1:30/1:32)
100 pull, 4 x 25 (20 sec avg)
CD: 6x (100 pull/50 free)
I can finally breathe again! Had a good swim at lunch. Will post details once I get home. Big training weekend ahead. I need it, the cold has severely reduced my training volume the last week or so and I only have a few more large weeks to go before the taper. I need these long training weekends to go well. "Fingers crossed"
Good swim. Still fighting the sinus cold, but couldn't chance getting too much more behind in my training. I am feeling better, but still not great. Another workout on the sked for after work.
