short quick run. just enough to make sure my legs don't forget what they have to do tomorrow.

I average 7:15 minute/miles which is very quick for me. Yeah, tapering works!

just wanted to stretch the legs and make sure all was okay with my bike. Rode most of the out/back section of the course. felt very good. i guess this tapering stuff works.

guesstimate on the distance. swim in Lake Monona. Couldn't find the BT group. There were so many people there. Water was warm and I assume it was cooler than it was since it rained all day yesterday. Guess I'm just used to swimming in the SF Bay. Plus, the water wasn't salty!

a brief midday run. Rainy. Saw a couple people out there swimming. Tribike transport truck was out there in all the rain (they covered up the bikes with tarps). A few folks coming out of registration. Guess it's open already.

3:30PM

I unpacked my bike and put it together.  Rear brake is really sticky.  Take it over to Williamson bikes.  Shop replaces the cable in a jiffy.  DW and I didn't have a great experience when she rented a bike last time we were here, but they were awesome taking care of me today.  Hopefully I can go for a little test spin tomorrow.

10AM

I'm sitting here at the Steep and Brew coffee shop on State St. in Madison.  Good news is that all the construction on State St. looks like it's done and ready for the race.  Bad news is that it's raining.

Forecast on NOAA says "Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph. "

Forecast on Accuweather says "High: 73°F RealFeel®: 71°F

Mostly cloudy with a shower possible

fly day to Wisconsin.

interestingly enough, my weight came back down to the level of what I was right before IM Lanzarote.  I guess all that training and calorie burning kicked in just in time!
