In case I haven't mentioned it before, I hate wind.  Wind, wind, wind.  We've had nothing but windy days all spring, and I'm ready for some calmer weather to work out in.  It was so gusty today that the wind blowing the sand from the trail was stinging my legs.  Not fun.

Still, I had a better run than usual - I did a much better job of pacing myself. I did have to cut a couple of my intervals a bit short, but considering the conditions, I'm pretty pleased.

I'm also pleased to have my weight finally coming back down.  I've lost about 4 pounds in the last 2 weeks.  I hope that I can keep up that pace for a while longer and be close to 175 for my race on the 22nd, and maybe 165 for the Austin Tri on September 1.  Bit by bit, but I'm feeling a lot more optimistic about my progress so far. There is hope for me yet!

3 mile run/1:30 bike/3 mile run. This workout was all endurance.  I ddn't have nearly the speed that I wanted, but at least I got through it!  The first run was in 95-degree heat and we had winds about 12 mph for the bike.  I had a short walk break on the second run, but otherwise, I was steady, if slow.
