  • RACE DAY: Possum Trot 10K
I think we shall call this week a nice long taper for my 10k tomorrow.  Sound good?

I think I've decided that for the next 2 weeks I'm just going to do what I can and then really get back to being focused on triathlon training on June 8.  I need to figure out how to bill all these hours and still get my workouts in.  I need to start scheduling my week and sticking to it.  I'm going to Hilton Head next Thurs-Sunday and after trying to get in all my workouts in Charleston last weekend and the craziness that was, I've decided that I'm not forcing myself to do any workouts in Hilton Head.  I just need a vacation where I can go and relax and not have to get up at 5am every day to workout.  This is my only real vacation this summer and I don't want to spend it worrying about when I'm going to do my long bike or long run.  There are way more important things to worry about, like which drink I will have next or where we are going to dinner.

I am kind of looking forward to the 10k tomorrow.  I wasn't all that jazzed about the Splash last weekend until I actually got in the water, so I'm hoping the run has the same effect.  I'm hoping for a huge PR - my last 10k was the 10k Classic last September and it was 56:XX.  I know I can definitely smash that.  I'd love to break 50 minutes, and I think I can do it.  Just have to see how the old body is feeling tomorrow.

Speaking of old, someone turns 30 on Sunday.  OLD!!!

I want to run today....might try to get out early and go before the HOA board meeting tonight.  Or I might just go after.  Work's been super crazy this week - welcome back from vacation!!

Nothing beats getting up at 5:15am while you're on vacation to go ride and then not riding because of the pouring rain.  Booooo....
