Precompetition day SWIM:
15 min. easy - did the same thing as yesterday, but really, really easy today - just getting loose and comfortable in the wetsuit.

Base - Endurance

On a flat course along Lake Monona bike/walk/running trail, keeping HR in Zone 1-2. Just loosening things up.

Nice and easy on the swim course. Swam to the half way bouy then turned across the course then back on the last half of the back leg, then back into the shore.

Pre Race Prep - IM Prep

WarmED up for 10', making sure the bike is shifting properly and nothing is loose or rattling. Checked tire pressure and made sure handlebars, stem, skewers are all tight. After wu, did 4x20" fast with a full recovery between each.

EARLY MORNING

Open Water

Open Water swim, nice and easy, practicing heads up navigation on the race course at time of race start. Sunrise will be in my eyes through first half of lap one. Shouldn't be a problem though - tinted googles.

Driving to Madison today.  Probably will not get to the swim workout for the day, but will be in the open water at Lake Monona (race site) the next three days leading up to the race on Sunday.
