Did NOT feel like swimming today. It was better for me than taking a nap though, since I slept for 10 HOURS last night!!! Almost was late to church [okay maybe we were a minute or two late] today. Felt fine during the swim. Didn't feel particularly fast or slow. Just eh.

Wow, my first mile in quite a while. Haha I didn't mean for that to rhyme. Felt really good the whole time. Noticed my left foot [arch] was hurting deep into the workout as I pushed off the walls. I just don't know what's going on with that silly thing. Maybe it's time to retire the 'everyday' shoes. One thing I've noticed is that I swim a TON better when I breathe every fourth stroke. That's why my warm-ups/first few laps are just awesome while the rest stink! Okay they don't stink, but they're not where I want them to be.

Time is actual; distance is [very humble] estimate.

Tried out the new trainer today! Went to Play it Again Sports and got ourselves two trainers. The one I wanted from the minute I saw it was a CycleOps mag trainer. Brynn wanted to get two so that we can do some "training rides" together so we got her a mag one with adjustable resistance. I'm kinda excited to get her on it and improve her cycling! At any rate, I can't find my cycle computer so I have to rely on the seat-of-the-pants-o-meter and RPE, which according to what I've been reading is more scientific than most people give credit]. Distance for today's workout is a very modest estimate based on HR for the workout. For about the last 30 min I was 135-145 which for me translates into anywhere from 12-16mph on the road. All I had with me was my iPod and I gotta admit it was pretty boring. At least with treadmills [at the gym] there's something to look at! I'll have to get our TV set up downstairs so we can watch stuff while we cycle. Yeah! I'm excited about our winter training! haha I probably won't be come late-December/early January. I've also been eyeballing this Big "O" "half-ironman" [and I use quotes because the distances are a little shy of a true half] down in Olathe, KS in May. I think it would be pretty cool and it would be a great motivator for training during the colder months at the beginning of the year. Another option would be doing the Pigman tri over in eastern Iowa in August. That would be more than enough time to train for such an event. The Hy-Vee Triathlon is June 22 and I definitely want to do that but I just looked at the website and registration [for USAT members of which I am not] is $115! No wonder they can afford to give away a quarter million bucks and a few Hummers! Sheesh! Makes ya think twice before getting into something like that. Then again it's probably a WAY better event than, say, the Black Squirrel Triathlon which had ONE aid station for a 6 mile run. So it's all relative, I suppose.

Distance is estimate. Felt good the whole time. Had to keep reeling Brynn in from making me go faster than I wanted.

Boy for having better trails than Omaha/CB I'm sure at a loss to figure out HOW FRICKIN FAR I'VE GONE! Lincoln sucks for measured trails. Also another thing I don't appreciate is having to cross traffic. ALL Omaha trails go under or over cross traffic, have markers every tenth of a mile, and are significantly wider than what I've experienced so far in the Star City. Sad thing is, I feel 100% safer running in Lincoln than I do in Omaha.
