Well, If I'm going to commute, I may as well commute big!

Got home. Fixed dinner for sick first born and synchro swimming second born and out galavanting first wife. Put it in the oven, gave instructions to turn off the oven to first born and biked to the pool and back.

Not as much hassle as I thought.

Hardly seems worth it.
I had a sudden desire to ride a bike to work.

It took me about 30 minutes to change in to riding clothes and out of riding clothes into monkey suit.

Took me about 14 minutes to get here through treacherous truck and idiot traffic.

Mind you getting naked to change in my office had a certain appeal. I'm thinking I should put my pants on now, since I have a meeting coming up. I said meeting!

PM update. Rode home. It was uneventful...The route home is a little easier-traffic wise and downhill slightly.

To those who have told me that I train too much, I offer this bit of information from a medical blog. It seems that Swimming and Cycling are restful practices, so 2/3 of the time (not counting strength training) I'm just resting...

It is -4 and I'm toying with the idea of going back to sleep.

I'm toying with several other ideas, but I can't talk about them here.

What are going to do today Brain? Same think we do every day, Pinky...

It loosened me up quite a bit.

Decided to go for an easy run while first born was at track practice.
It ain't easy to run easy anymore.
Spent most of the time running on grass. Ran around part of the race course at the University/Douglas Park and did my victory lap.

Feel quite good. Achilles continue to be a little tight.

A Day Without Me

I'm starting a landslide in my ego
Look from the outside to the world I left behind
I'm dreaming - you're awake
If I were sleeping, what's at stake?
A day without me

Whatever feelings I keep feeling
What are the feelings you left behind?

Today's a day without me

I started a landslide in my ego
Look from the outside to the world I left behind
In the world I left behind
Wipe your eyes and then let go
To the world I left behind
Shed a tear and then let go

Theres something about this date that I just can't put my finger on...But I feel like drinking tequilla and dos equis for some reason....

I'm resting for a little while today after yesterday's race.

Race Report is Up! RACE ... Official Times.

15th out of 18 in my very competitive age group.

Last year I finished in 1:40:51. I was 86/101 (20th/20AG) 17:56 swim, 49:52 bike, 33:04 run.

May the fourth be with you!

Here we go...weeeeee!

-5....feels like -10.

It feels like the first time, like the very first time.

And for those of you who might have noticed, yes First Wife's initial is above my planned vs. Actual graph.

Did the bike course with Nick. And some with Dennis. Still very sandy. Weather is looking good, but still lots of wind.

Tried to sleep in but I was up 4 times to pee, must have been the beer and at 6:30 I was ready to go cycling...crap I hate routine.

Having an easy day today, a little spin around the bike course. Pick up the race package, help clean up and set up a bit of the course. Then that's sweeping for 6 hours, like last year!

First wife was at the bar with the car. So I ran to Bushwakkers and had a pint and then we drove home together.

I figured I earned the beer.
Easy stopped at all the traffic lights.
Turned some heads at the bar.

This is just too fun.

Good all around stretch, power and range of motion work with Brendan. Just the right amount.

New photos in my album Hypothermic and RPS

For some entertainment. I would like to compare and contrast two running scenes:

This is me, a little chilly running the Hypothermic Half Marathon in -45 around Wascana Lake.

I'm not so much waving at the photographer as I am saying "help me Spock..."

Now this is me running around the same lake (see there is water there!) at about the same location in about 8 c.

Same photographer - T.E.

The next running race I'm doing naked.

So here I am at the crack of stupid with a bunch of donuts trying to to figure out why a good friend has gone into stealth mode....

Okay, I'm awake already. Just as well I didn't go cycling. It is windy and gross out.
