Run with Nick to limber up, pre-race.

Leave for Chinook today.

Thanks for your support. I shall return  anon, triumphant perchance.

For those of  you keeping score. First Born graduated from Grade 8 yesterday. He was on the Honour Role (today is brought to you by the Canadian letter U) and he also earned the academic award for highest grades - sharing it with a nice you lady with whom he seems to share a whole bunch of other stuff...The DNA sure doesn't fall far from the petrie  dish.

News Release

Regina - John aka Starcorp took a tumble on Lumsden Hill last night. He sustained a number of scrapes and destroyed his helmet. All limbs function as well as they did prior to bike crash.

He overnighted at the hospital and following a number of tests, is in much better spirits this morning. He is okay! Although has a number more tests to complete. Remember, he is the Ironman.

Thanks to Pat S. and her medical expertise for being there for him. And to Wife Gwynne for being Gwynne!

He has had some coffee in him this morning and has had his blackberry returned to him. All is good.

No word on his bike.

Starcorp had a bicycle accident late Tuesday. As of 11:30 p.m. he was in hospital getting some tests done. He's pretty banged up (not sure of the extent-all limbs work) Helmet is cracked in several places. HELMETS SAVE LIVES!

He was making jokes and in pretty good spirits, considering he couldn't get his coffee. I'll provide updates when I have them - or, more probably, he will.

Great swim...I was feeling lethargic, but I went...pool was nice and empty, all the fairweather masters swimmers are now outdoors.

Okay, I'm back! All systems are green for go.
Max speed 42.5. Hammy is happy. Teddy is happy.

Very tired this morning. But all systems still go. Mr. Ham&Cheese is not complaining. Today I may get on the freshly washed and retired dirty girl.

I'm back!
Started with a few tentative steps. Waiting for a pain, or a twinge or something.
But mr. Ham&Cheese made no complaints.
I didn't intend to run fast - I even avoided the dirt trail - too uneven. I ran naked. No GPS or HRM - Did most of the Icebreaker course (sans hill).

I'm really hungry to race now...can you tell?

  • Stretching

Good long stretch after run.

Okay, now I start thinking about Saturday.

I'm not healed yet, but it is feeling better. Massage never happened. In fact she never called me back like she promised she would...There are few basics to humanity that are quickly disappearing.

It's go from here!

Okay, that was cold.
First OWS of the season (race next week!)
8 degrees air temp.
I'm still coughing - I think it is my testicles in my throat.
Not that bad actually. Wore a Zoot head cover. Very cold on the face, took my breath away every time I put my head under water. Total swim time was about 15 minutes.
Suit performed well. The repairs I made to it held waterproof. I think this is the last season I can wear this suit, it is getting baggy - I've lost too much girth.
Swam with Nick. He did well, was having some problems with his suit size. He's got some serious muscle on him and the suit was a little tight last year, this year it is even tighter around the shoulders-he didn't look comfortable.
There were tons of fisher people who looked at us as we were crazy. The pelicans and seagulls just thought we were nuts.
Got 'er done. Feel more comfortable now. I'm so ready...as long as Mr. Hammy gets better soon.

I just don't know. A little less tender...maybe I'm getting insensitive?

Early morning OWS with Nick. It is 8 degrees out there. Hmmmm. Where's that little purse so I can put my testicles in for safekeeping.
