bike commute to work...I see a thunderstorm coming. I took my chances. Might have to get a lift home!

Return ride home.
Went home at lunch time because of the storm and returned to work by car. It is now raging out there. You know, we can't have perfect weather everyday this summer.

#1153...It's that time again!

FW's birthday today. Don't think I'll get much active tapering in.

Yikes. It is getting to be that you can't take a step (or stroke) around here without running into Ironmen, and soon to be Ironmen.
I do like this community. Shame about the crappy weather.

Just swimming. Focus on technique and consistent speed.

Nice comfortable run around the lakes half on trails. Felt great.
Still having some chafing issues on my ripples and under my arm. Looks like I'm going to have to use the Astrolube.

Hmmm. Another glorious wait, I was looking at the tv screen, not the window. :(

Windy ride, as per training ride.
Felt strong and confident.
Got an offer today (from the World Champion) to drive Dirty Girl to IMC...I'm kinda on the fence. But I am really touched by his kindness.

Another shitaculous day on the weather front. 9C this morning.

Lazy day. Hanging out with family, mother-in-law cleaning up basement to get ready for Bopper to do some drywalling.
Was thinking about a quick run, but then the rain started again!

Played chicken with the weather gods and sprinted to the weigh station and back.
Very high cadence for most of the trip (105rpm) Some swirling wind out there. Very dark, scary clouds.
Dirty Girl is filthy from the wet on the ground.

  • Walking
  • 1h 30m

Walking around the lake at a leisurely pace checking out the Dragon Boat races. About 8k total.

Ahhhhh...Sometimes doing nothing is so stress free...i hope I can find some time to ride today though.

10 minute stop at home.
Felt pretty good. Sweaty!
Negative split the sucker! Got stronger and stronger. Had fountain water with 2k to go.
I'm ready!

Absolutely crappy weather, but dry.
Killer headwind on way back and I really didn't feel like riding!
Did Lumsden hill and the other tough hill on the secondary road.
Had to pee like crazy! Stopped 4 times!!
one granola bar, one Hammer bar one Powergel with caf. and one bottle with weak electrolyte powder. Plus one other water.

Got it done!

Got my ride on and kicked it - there were some ominous clouds in the sky.

That felt good. I feel better.
I rode light. One bottle of water, nothing in the aerobottle. Strange feeling...almost like the bike was too small..I guess that happens when the bike is almost 10 pounds lighter - I usually have the equiv. of 4 bottles on board for my long rides.
Mojo is back.
Taperville here we come.

I think my body and the weather are pushing me into Taperville.
