I sent my first letter to the editor today.

I am utterly disgusted with the driver responsible and those who jeered the 50 bike pile up in Sydney on 8 May 2008.

But I'm shocked at the comments of Ms Anne Morphett of the NRMA telling cyclists to avoid large packs (9-5-08)! I'm sorry but I feel MUCH safer riding in a large pack than riding on my own! First of all Opperation Echo Schine still hasn't caught that guy targeting women in our suburbs - as if he's going to make a move on one of us in a pack.

Then there's the safety in numbers mentality - If I have a flat or blow a tire then it's not as if I'm going to be left on my own while I repair it or wait for a pick up.

Ms Morphett, Do you even realise most of us have to start training at 4:30-5am now to "avoid" peak "three-hours"? Believe me, WE AVOID IT! Why on earth would we go out in a PACK just to get stuck in a traffic jam - that's not training - that's no better than catching the bus.

Cyclists - Please stay safe. follow the rules as always and Ride in a pack! That way if a Moron like this pulls in front of you in a fit of rage at least ONE of your pack may be able to get his number plate and bring the bastard to justice.

lots and lots of core work - Push up, leg extensions, planking, bridges... Max push ups I could do in 20 seconds was 7.

Well tonight I start my girl guide journey all over again! I can't wait. I'm going to go meet all the other girl guide leaders in the region to sign up so to speak. Then tomorrow I'll be at my first unit meeting.

I haven't been involved in the guides organisation since I was 15. I was awarded my BP emblem and then it was time to move on and start work. Now I'm working and I'm finding that since starting tri training I've got more energy and I'm getting sick of the TV - Time to take up another hobby!

FH going back to study is another reason. I just need to get out of the house.

SO. I'm gonna be a guide leader! YAY! It'll be an interesting journey that's for sure.
