Outside run at Amarah in evening. Not too hot out. Mile ave: 1=7:48, 2=7:42, 3=7:42, 4=7:41, final 0.56 mile=7:33. Faster than I had planned but a good solid speed workout.

Ran outside in Amarah in the pitch dark with a head lamp on uneven dirt 0.4 mile track. Absolute stumble-fest! Too funny! Felt great aerobically and muscle wise, just could not run too fast as the ground was soooo uneven! Mile overall ave splits: 1=9:09, 2=9:11, 3=9:02, 4=8:56, 5=8:41, 6=8:03, overall 8:48. Good run and good training for nighttime ultra running!

Mid-day run at Amarah arounf their compound. 100 degrees with no shade but a good breeze. Felt sore for0.5 miles and then legs loosened up. Felt good for 4 iles, Mile 5 was a rough mile and then felt okay for 6th mile. Splits: 1=8:26, 2=:8:29, 3=8:25, 4=8:30, 5=8:47, 6=8:40 , Overall 8:32 min/mile average. Good run on a HOT day!

Ran half marathon on VBC. Felt really good. Tried to hold my pace back for first ten miles. Was averaging 8:00 min/miles for first 4 miles, then bumped it to 7:56 min/mile ave through 9 miles. Felt really good at 9 miles so I started to hit it pretty hard but still not too crazy. From mile 11 on I was going very hard for me. Finished 46th out of over 500 and felt great at the finish. Tired but not at all wiped out. Great run!
