A climbing buddy of mine is climbing Everest right now on a trip that I passed on because I'm just a big wuss. I just got emailed the promo video (below) and many of the photos are some that I've taken on our past climbing trips. This is the 2nd time (of which I'm aware) that NASA has used my photos, which are generally beyond terrible... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYkqQANPQxY Anyone interested in NASA and climbing can find the day-to-day of this trip here: http://www.onorbit.com/everest

Awesome powder day. Three laps on Peak 10, skied a Minecrotch line with 15" that hadn't been skied in a couple days, five laps on six chair, two hikes up to Lake Chutes (360' vert hiking). Every run untracked perfection. The whole mountain turned to mashed taters around 11:30a. (52)

Spent much of the day selling my POS Subaru with a blown engine, a telephone bidding war with three guys who want to deal with putting in a new engine, which I do not. Glad to be rid of it. Then, bought a new Jeep Unlimited Rubicon in Denver and drove it back up the hill in yet another blizzard. I got to test its snow ability driving up my driveway in the 1.5 feet of new snow we have that I get to deal with tommorrow. Long, bizarre, stressful day.

Ride at Chatfield SP. Estimated time. Windy.

Came down to Denver to get out of the snow. On the way down our Subaru died (I think its real bad) so we had to call a wrecker and get a rental big enough to carry my bike and Buddy. Got a Chrysler Aspen which is nice but only 2wd. Was able to get in a bike but not a run. Went out last night to Tambein which was good and we're both a little hungover. Sitting here in the Marriott in Cherry Creek about to go to Starbucks, then for a run. Then Buddy's going to daycare and we're going to the Denver Auto Show, which ironically is the reason we came down in the first place. We need two new cars, pronto. Then, hopefully we'll be able to get back up the hill in our 2wd car. Supposed to get a foot of snow tonight in Breck and we have to sneak back up before it hits.

Rec Ctr to Beaver Run base w/Buddy. 260' uphill out and downhill back.

My deck is officially snow/ice free! And our snowpack now has a sufficient suncrust so that Buddy can walk on top of the snow without postholing. His yard is still 1-4 feet deep but his world has been greatly expanded. Savoring the last bit of ice.
