most likely calling this a rest day. leaving very early tomorrow morning to fly out east and spend another week at Smith Mountain Lake. the airport has been crazy because of changes to the security area. will be getting to the airport VERY EARLY for our 6:50 AM flight.

Easy early morning run with a friend. We started at 530 AM and were crossing Cedar Ave bridge over Nokomis just as the sun was rising. Very beautiful.

Commute. The morning is typically my speedier ride of the day. In the afternoon there are just a lot more cars on the road so intersections, lights, etc take longer. Today's afternoon ride was aided with a nice northern wind :)

The mid morning thunder and lightning storm and heavy rain cooled the temperatures down to the mid 60s. I started running and felt good so I did a speed workout. My plan is one more tri in mid Sept and I was hoping to do one speed workout in running per week leading up to the race.
I ran 1 mile over to the river, just past Hennepin Ave Bridge and did 4x400m.

400s were as follows:
1:43 (6:54/mile pace)
1:42 (6:54/mile pace)
1:39 (6:41/mile pace)
1:40 (6:41/mile pace)

Did a nice job "almost" negative splitting these. The last one missed by a tiny bit but was the same pace as number 3.
