on the trainer. I was listening to Kayne's cover of the daft punk song "harder/ better/ faster/ stronger" during commercials and really pushing it. I kept thinking of the finish line and "TRICIA YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!"

wore shorts (and long sleeves) but have a feeling it's going to be tights weather very soon ! I do love the feeling of cold weather running, though... so fresh and invigorating !

yesterday I went to check out a new gym - the MAC in Harbor East. I'm paying $80/ month at my current gym and I figured that with this econonmy, gyms would be offering all kinds of deals incentives to attract new customers.  I was wrong.

All I want is a gym with a 25 yard or meter pool, and some basic cardio and weight equipment. It's rare that I use a gym for anything BUT the pool, but if it's too dark I will run on the treadmill.  The MAC really is a beautiful gym, but I don't need a smoothie bar and restaurant, four yoga rooms, bellydancing classes, etc.

The woman showing me around clearly didn't know her audience, either. I mentioned several times that I run + ride outside, and she keeps pointing out the neat stationary bikes and telling me about the treadmill classes. UGH, treadmill classes?

The pool is nice but it's not fantastic.  It's certainly no better than where I currently swim.

Add to ^^^ that the bet she could do was MATCH what I'm paying at my current gym, PLUS I have to pay for parking and deal with traffic in Harbor East.

le sigh, looks like I'll be staying at Merrit.

from the website:

Riders will leave La Plata starting at 7:00 am and pass through historic Port Tobacco and climb a short hill to a spectacular view from Chapel Point. The longer routes continue along lightly travelled back roads with rest stops throughout. The century route then heads through Amish country to Leonardtown. Cyclists will return to La Plata to the Crossing at Casey Jones, where they will enjoy an after-ride party with food and entertainment.

today is supposed to be a rest day but I didn't swim last night and now I feel guilty Yell I was so flipping tired after work that I napped from 5:30-8:00... and then slept from 10:30 to 7:15 this morning. I suppose I really did need the sleep but now I feel behind in my training and I hate that !

this weekend:
tonight: rehearsal dinner for James' friend's wedding
tomorrow: 4500M swim, wedding
sunday: century ride (Civista Potomac Heritage Bicycle Tour)
