started out really slow (9:50) and then picked it up. I don't know why I am so much slower in the mornings... maybe I just need the day to warm up my legs ? It was dark up until 6:15ish, which was kind of scary, but I stayed in the nice(r) areas --- Canton/ Fells -- until the sun came up. .. then, home through the hood !

tonight we have Inns of Court, which means a fancy dinner out :) (Inns is a social/ professional club for attorneys and judges in Howard Co.). mmmmmmm.

2.4 mi swim :)

the journey is the reward .. most of the time.

sometimes, when the journey itself is not enough of a reward - when you are tired and hungry and would rather nap and maybe clean your dirty house - you need an external reward. something tangible. something now.

my sked called for a 3600M swim - that's exactly 2.4 mi (IM distance). told myself that if I did it I would treat myself to a pedicure post swim.

and I did.

and it was delightful !

today: 3600M swim after work. was going to go before work but it was 50* this morning and I was tired and, well, wimped out !

will not be registering for Columbia Surprised because I do hope to be 'of the family way' Laughing come March 2010 !
I have totally caught the 'baby rabies' and am excited to start our family... AFTER I become an Ironman, of course !

rest day!  feeling really good right now -- last week I was exhuasted all of the time, but this week I'm feeling energized and strong. maybe I'm getting used to the training?

tomorrow is a 9 mi run and 3600M swim, and sunday is a four hour ride. AND monday is a holiday !

yesterday James picked up five foster kittens from the spca --- 3 all back, 1 all gray, 1 black and white.  they are VERY adorable and if anyone in the Maryland area is looking for a kitten, these little guys will be up for adoption in about 6 weeks ! (for photos go to my facebook page)

Started out with the IronGirl course, then contined on the Columbia course. had to pee. ducked behind a tree. thought "I hope I don't get arrested for incedent exposure" (public urination isn't a crime in Howard Co.). Turned right on 108 when I came up Homewood to get in a few more miles. then I ate a payday bar. those are so yummy!
