VERY easy day on Three Creeks. It was a return to the scene of the crash for me. So more therapeutic than anything. It made riding seem fun again. I'm not scared of the path anymore.

This is my longest run since the crash, and it felt the same (not great) all the way through. It is hard to just get up in the morning and run without warming up my knee with swimming or biking. I stopped midway to massage some of the tightness on the kneecap and it didn't help much. The whole run was in the dark.

Well, blast it all. I had everything worked out so I would be in the pool swimming by 6:40 a.m. That was all well and good until I walked up to the doors of the Y after running for an hour and noticed the sign that said the pool was closed for maintenance. I had to drive 10 minutes through downtown, pay $6 to park, walk a block, etc. just to swim in a 20-yd pool. Grrr. I did not feel at all motivated during the swim. I kept looking at the clock, wanting to get out. I couldn't really use my workout book because I didn't want to deal with translating all the sets for a 20-yard pool and being at the wrong end all the time. Bright spot: I did see Joel there, in his new job as aquatics director.

Little loop up to Walnut, then back down past home and into North Linden to pick up the truck for work.
Felt fine. Not great. I could definitely feel Sunday's ride in my legs, plus stiffness in my knee from Monday's lack of activity.

Off day! Just sleeping in (til 6:45!) and eating today.

David surprised me by encouraging me to head out for a transition run after my super long ride. I felt great, and he was offering to be in charge of the kids even longer, so naturally I left! I tried to slow it down but really couldn't. High HR is climbing the hill back toward the house.

Goal was to run 20 minutes as an experiment.
I actually did 30 minutes. The stopwatch shut off for a few minutes somehow without me noticing.
It felt so good to be running, I went kinda fast.
