"Give the Pure Connect a try if you are on the fence about a minimalist (or minimalist-like) shoe. The person that I worked with at my LRS suggested that I give them a try based on my desire to transition to minimalist. He let me know after I selected this pair that he uses these shoes... and he qualified for the Olympic Trials in the marathon."
Quality of Construction
Light weight shoe. Has Vibram surfacing on the touch points in the surface of the shoe.
Fit
This shoe is a touch narrow in the toe box. However, the body of the shoe fits like a glove.
Comfort
For a minimalist shoe, the Pure Connect feels really good on your foot. You can feel the surface of the road / trail that you are running on, but you are assured of the protection of the Vibram material. There is also some arch support that helps with comfort.
Durability
I've only had the shoe for 2 months (85 miles) and they show no signs of wearing.
Value
I rated this a nine due to other reviews that I've read. Although this is not my experience, I've read that this shoe has a life span of about 200 miles. At $90, that puts a dent into the rating for me.
Appearance
Bright orange! Love the color and the style!
Performance
So far, so good. I feel fresh after my runs and look forward to lacing them up for the next run.
Strengths
Great shoe to transition to a more minimalist approach. (I might just stick with this shoe for the long haul.) Good looks, great comfort and decent value.
Weakness
If other reviewers are accurate, 200 miles is not the best life span of a trainer in my opinion.

Ease of use
I wanted to try a shoe that facilitates a move towards minimalist. This shoe fits the bill! I started out running 3 miles and have built up to 12 with this shoe so far.
