Last 'long' training session before my race Saturday--I can't wait!

Sounds like a solid day of training... Good luck with your race!
I am SOOO tired.....
5 AM (or was it 4:50--all a blur): Trainer workout from hell. Basically it is supposed to make you strong in ways that my scrawny marathoner body (to be specific, my butt) is not. As in start with a bunch of lunges (75 total, different kinds), warm up on the bike, do a bunch of big gear reps and between reps get off the bike and do still more lunges, squats, etc. Calculated later that this workout involved nearly 200 lunges.
4 PM: Today was supposed to be a lighter swim workout, but I couldn't do yesterday's harder one owing to storms that closed the pool before I could even start, so I did it today. 3000m of various reps.
Now upper and lower body are equally trashed, and bed at 8 PM is sounding really good. I made sure to take care of everything that needed doing around the house before hitting the couch, as I figured I may not get up once I lie down! -

After a day of sleeping in yesterday, back to the pre-dawn workout.

Have a great day, folks! And, enjoy the taper, Kim!

Good evening,
With work slowing to a halt this past week, I have lots more time to train.
This morning I did my 2 minute plank while the coffee was brewing. A few hours later (after we got the kid off to school) I ran 3.1 miles around my block. I was within 30 seconds of my best time ever in the 5k, so I was pretty happy with that.
This evening after I dropped the daughter off at swim practice, I headed to the other pool and got some laps in myself. I did 11 x 200 yds for 2200 yards total.
Feeling pretty good tonight!

Day 1 of two day training block. Hard AM Swim 4000k, Hard Run Intervals on the treadmill this evening, with some easy commuting by bike between. Glad I am in bed ready to turn out the lights.

Tough day to train for me. I biked for 45 minutes with intervals and then ran 8 miles. The run was tough after 3 miles and the last 5 were brutal.
Saturday will be the first race of the season for me. I am not ready and just didn't have time to train with work.
Oh well life could be worse
Have a good week everyone
