4.2.17 Sunny Sunday
BY: ingleshteechur on 2017-04-02 3:05 PM
Hey BT! Well sunny for me now...got ready for the new run adventure that I planned yesterday, got out to the spot where I was going to start and boom--winds, dark skies and rain. Had to call it. Now that we're driving home it's gorgeous, of course! Will try to get my run in later at home! -

Happy Sunday!
3200 yards in the pool this morning.
45 minutes on the bike this afternoon and then into 110 min long run.
Nice way to close out the weekend!

Rest day after race yesterday. Pretty sore, but spent about 20 mins in the jacuzzi, and a trip to costco and target to move around a little.

Bummer about the run! Hope you were able to get it in later.
1:33 of running here. Started early as I wanted to finish before it got too hot (and not end up having to sit out in the heat at the brunch place). Good I did as the sun finally came out full force in the last 20 minutes, and the pavement was steaming after five hours of rain yesterday.
PM had to round up Tomoko (my smaller cat, but much more of a handful than the bigger one) and take her to the vet across town for shots. Think that was harder than the run! I thought we were going to run into another big storm coming back (scary since that road can seriously flood), but I think it hit the north end of town instead. Just some drizzle here. -

Beautiful sunny morning out for the first race of the season.
10 Mile Trail Challenge in the Angeles National Forest
10.5 miles, 1,400ft, 1:53
Not sure what happened but right out of the gate I was sucking wind. Not sure if I ate too much or too little before the race, or perhaps just went out too fast. Anyways got into a good climbing pace up the trail and got some scary speed going down the mountain. Got my feet out of sequence and hit some loose dirt and took a fast tumble, got lucky and did a cool army roll and the momentum threw me back up on my feet. Great race to start the season.
Last year I did the same race, but it was only 9 miles and I did it in 1:46. So I didn't really improve my time much but I have stayed consistent over the course of the last year.
