5.26.17 Fabulous Friday!
BY: ingleshteechur on 2017-05-26 7:36 AM
Hey BT! Good morning!
5:00am: 5X5 strong lift + core. Will head out for a hike after school with the doggies. I can't believe it's already Memorial Day weekend! Monday off of school so looking forward to a weekend spent outside in the sun (with lots of sunscreen of course!) Going to clean up the mountain bike tonight and get out riding this weekend for sure!
Have a great day!

Got stormed out of my swim this afternoon. All ready to go and it started thundering and wouldn't stop until it got too late to be able to do the workout. (No wiggle room now that pool is only opened till 4:30. I ended up staying late and finishing my report cards. Heading to bed soon to get up early for long run tomorrow. Weather has been awful--sticky, airless mornings, stiflingly hot in the daytime, then violent rain/thunderstorms, usually around the time between when school lets out and when I head home from work.
Two more weeks! -

Happy Friday!
50 minutes in the pool this am and have an hour on the trainer this afternoon. Thinking I am going to sign up for CdA 70.3 since my move will occur on the 15th of June and I will be out there for a few weeks without the family. Why not, right? Plus it will give me a little preview of the full course. Have to justify it some way

Hi all,
I've seen this but haven't checked it out, but wanted a place to say how good I feel about my workouts. I've let aches and pains derail me each year and I have been no where near my potential. Got sidetracked this year too. Kept having knee issues and resting them. Well, it's arthritis and resting won't help. Feel kinda free to keep at it.
Started from scratch about 2 months ago, slow and steady.
Today I'm getting an hour in on my trainer (it's cold and windy out)

5:15am: 20 mile bike ride - It was windy today for the first time in in more than a week. It also felt oddly warm for the first time in a while too.

Some of the ideas that I have tried are very non-conventional but I figure if no
one ever tried them nothing new will ever be discovered. -

Got up at 3:30 AM. Did my stretching and got ready for my morning run.
My legs felt heavy and wasn't having a good run at all. I think the long week of travel caught up with me. Thought about cutting it short but started feeling better after mile five. Felt good on the next couple of miles after the five.
Did weight and core training after run.
Ready for 3 day weekend.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Welcome Mitzi! Glad you are back to enjoying your workouts.
I did my usual morning routine of a 2 minute plank, 37 pushups and 16 sit ups. At high noon, I hit the bike trail and did my 14 mile route. My goal is to get this route down to less than an hour. (I got it down to 61 minutes and change last year...) Today's effort was 1:04, which was way better than I had expected as it started out rough, and I got caught by a train on the way back.
Part of what helped though was I got passed by a guy on a bike with aerobars, which is pretty unusual on this bike path. For the two miles or so I was near him, I was going about 20 seconds a mile faster. Alas, he got past the tracks before the gates went down and I didn't so I didn't see him again for about a mile. By then I was getting off the trail.
Have a wonderful weekend all!

Maybe we'll see each other--I'm also doing CDA 70.3 (assume you mean this year? Better hurry up and sign up--it's in four weeks!) My family is also moving, to the Boise area; we'll be house-hunting for a week or so after the race. -
