6.26.17 Monday Morning!
BY: ingleshteechur on 2017-06-26 9:18 AM
Good morning BT!
5:30am: 30 minute easy run
6:30am: 5X5 strong lift + planks with daughters + hubby
Karen, can't wait to see the race report although bummer on the cramping. Still though...5:30? I'd kill for that kind of time!
My mountain bike ride yesterday was great--and my friend loved being on the other side of pain. As a personal trainer she's used to people hating her--yesterday she hated me on some of the climbs I took her on, but she loved it because it pushed her.
Heading to South Lake Tahoe today for the week for a family vacay! I'm so excited to get up there! Trail running all week long! I'm keeping my morning routine, so no fear, the thread will be here, lol!
Have a great Monday!

Nice easy five mile run this morning before my weekly 2 hour drive to Charlotte.
I agree with Kim. A 5:30 time with crapping involved is amazing. Awesome job Karen.
Enjoy the vacation at Lake Tahoe Kim.

I'm caught up in a dream, I'm goin to wish for it all. No one's gonna tell me how, cause this is my dream now. I'm caught up in what seems simply impossible, I ain't gonna change a thing, no way this is my dream.- Tesla -

Absolutely nothing today except serving as navigator for Mom (driving scenic route between CDA and Boise) and eating an elk burger! Hope to get in some OWS while we are in Boise for the next two days.
OMG Kim, I cannot imagine doing the full at CDA. Is it the same course, but twice? I think I would throw my bike into the lake if I had to ever ride that bike course again. Was there ANY flat place at all? Thought maybe it was just me, not used to hills, etc. but this AM I talked to a Canadian who was staying at our B and B and he thought it was much harder than Calgary (which I already thought was pretty hard). Guess I am just a biking wimp!
You have my greatest respect for surviving that course, in 100 degree plus temps, no less! The weather wasn't too bad yesterday. The later finishers had to deal with mid 90's, but when I finished (just before noon?)I think it was maybe in the low 80's, 85 at most. Don't recall every feeling uncomfortably hot, just cramping.
It's weird--I have only had serious cramping issues in dry, relatively cool weather. Not sure if it has to do with getting too cold on the swim, over-hydrating, or something unrelated (I have a bad habit of grinding up hills, and my "cool" races have tended to be hilly ones). Body just wasn't being very cooperative for some reason.
