09.10.2019 Tuesday Training

Good Morning BT!
I hit the bike trainer at 5:30 AM this morning for a 60-minute ride. It looked like it was going to be a brutal ride and I did record average Watts that were 25W higher that all the other 60-minute trainer rides I have done for the past 6 months, but I made it through this ride remarkably well. I am sure that is due to have light training for the past three weeks and being well-rested. This time a year ago I was going this type of workouts at 6-minute intervals at 315 W felt okay but when they went up to 330 W I died before the work out finished. This morning I finished at a 370 W interval and wasn't even breathing hard. My Heart rate was 15 BPM above my FTP heart rate so I working hard but it was riding smooth and staying on the target Watts.
Take care.

Some of the ideas that I have tried are very non-conventional but I figure if no
one ever tried them nothing new will ever be discovered. -

That’s dropping some watts!
5 mile run this evening for me. 1 mile warm up, 3 miles progressively harder than the previous, 1 mile cool down.
I’m feeling pretty good this week. I was expecting to be a little sluggish after my half marathon run Sunday, but i hit some fast sprints on the bike last night and some fast splits tonight during the run.
