It looks like I'll be visiting London in October!
Any running races you could recommend?

And more importantly, any input on these venues to see NEW FREAKING ORDER!!!!!!!
Newcastle Academy (October 11) - I don't mind a 250 mile train ride. No problem!
Blackpool Empress Ballroom (16)
Glasgow Academy (18) - Friggin' Scotland?????
Glasgow Academy (19)
London Wembley Arena (27) - Is this open air/stadium?
Wolverhampton Civic Hall (29)
Any input is much appreciated!

For running events I recommend you use the race search in the calendar of www.runnersworld.co.uk
I can't think of any annual races (but there WILL be plenty), but serpentine do a 5k on last fri lunch of every month, embankment of thames do a 2.3m run over the bridges (great views) at 12:30 on the second wednesday of the month (start opposite big ben).
Regents Park and Richmond Park will have regular races too.
As for the gig venues, I can only comment on wembley and wolves civic. wembley is huge and mostly seated - i just hope you are near the front. wolves civic was a real studenty venue....but not bad acoustics. Floor was grubby though. May have changed in the 10 years since I was there mind!
