I'm in. Looking forward to it. This will be my first full HIM as my swim got cancelled on my first planned. May be a silly question but the swim isn't wetsuit legal correct?

The water temp in Lake Weir is expected to be 60-65 degrees.. so... I plan to wear one.

yeah airfares where rough as its in the middle of spring break. But I have now signed up for the race. little worried that I will not get any long bike rides in chicago before the race.

Thinking of coming down from Atlanta with a few others for this, but I don't know much about Hits.  Then again you can't beat a race for $75.00.

Just signed up on the last day of the unbeatable $75 price. Read the 2 reviews from last year and it sounds like a well run race with a nice course except both reviews mention car traffic on the run course being a little much. Hopefully organizers make adjustments

I am in. At $75 too good to miss. I live in Tampa so I may even drive the 90 minutes there the morning of.

For everyone coming from out of town, where are you staying???  It looks like the closest hotels are to the race site 30 miles away?

I punched the address of the park (Carney Island, Ocklawaha, FL) into Hotels.com and got three hotels within six miles.  National chains, $100-150/night.  Couldn't cut and paste any linkies, sorry.

I'm probably staying w/ friends in Micanopy, which is about 45 miles away, however I may change that given how close the hotels are.

On an unrelated note, I'm following Gale Bernhardt's 13-weeks to a sub-13 hr. Ironman for this, my 1st 140.6.  It's light on the bike volume, but I come from a cycling background so if there was one facet that I'd choose to be light in favor of concentrating on the other two, it'd be cycling.  We'll see...

I'm signed up for the full distance.  Getting a little nervous - this will be my first full iron.  Not sure where we are staying yet.
