I just registered- my first HIM! I'm already committed to a fun marathon 3 weeks later and am seriously considering biking down to Austin to do it with a week of recovery beforehand, so I'm probably just going to aim to enjoy the surroundings and finish without too much fuss. How could I resist when I saw that the race goes through all my favorite places, and the ride is on not one but TWO Hog Eye Roads?
So if you see me setting up, I'm going to be the big dork frantically taking all the touring stuff off my road bike. Who else is in? -

This will be my first HIM as well. I am doing a sprint and Oly as well as a 5k or two in preparation for it. Should be fun. Most concerned about the swim right now. I have some OWS planned in the lake later this year so it probably wont be as bad as I think.

This is going to be my 2nd attempt at the HIM distance. I finished this one last year, but the result was pitiful and I'm looking forward to demolishing it this year. -

I plan on coming down from Chicago. Will be my first HIM. Just have to finalize days off with the wife and work, then hopefully pull the trigger and register in the next 2-3 weeks. Looking forward to it. I know Keith puts on a great race. I have only been to Austin once before and loved it. Any suggestions from you locals?
