Pre-race routine:
Skipped the USATF SoCal Cross Country Regional Championships with my running club XC team because A) I hate that course and B) I really felt I'd have a chance to win my AG here for the first time in 4 attempts...and I did.
Felt really disorganized setting up (and grabbed the wrong belt...had to buy a race number belt from a vendor). Confident I was going to have a good race, though.Event warmup:
Nothing, really...didn't even get a chance to do a warmup swim.

Crushed this. Fastest in age group by over 3 minutes. Several people remarked to me after the race how shocked they were at how fast I passed them.

Last tri of a strong season (albeit short course races only): 4 events, 4 top-two division finishes...1st here and at the same venue in May (Tri Express #3), 2nd at Malibu Tri Classic Distance, and anchored the 1st place coed relay team at the Malibu Tri International Distance race.Event comments:
This is a pretty long sprint tri. I've done it several times and always enjoy it. Pumpkin pie for finishers and beer glasses for age group award winners.
