Pre-race routine:
About 1h30 drive, got there around 10. Queued for 30 minutes to register. (organisers were delighted to have twice the number of people signed up as last year but they forgot to add more staff to welcome them. Not a big deal, it was a fun line)
Set up my stuff.Event warmup:
Started running and then spotted 2 border collies (a grown up and a 12 weeks old) so I had to pet them and chat to their owner instead.
Swim
Comments:
Nice swim. Was able to draft behind several people.
Forgot the ”new” technique I learnt last week and went back to my bad habits but with the drafting it was still a decent time.
Course was a little longer than the advertized 400m but I don’t know exacly as I missed changing on my watch so I got a total of 540 m including T1What would you do differently?:
I need to practice more on that new technique so I don’t go back to the old slower ways

My watch says 2 seconds as I missed the click after swimming. i am fast but not that fast. :)
Official timing says 55 seconds.
No issues there, all went smoothly

Longer than the advertised 20k, my watch says 21.5
Happy here too, average speed just under 32k/h is my best result on this distance.

5:15 min/ km is on par with my best 5k from 2018
