Pre-race routine:
Got up at 6:00am, had a coffee and got dressed. Packed 1gel and 1 water as I was going only for a 10k run and to check out the scene for 10mile run...Event warmup:
Ran 2.5k to the start of the race.
Run
Comments:
I paced myself - tried not to go over 152HR all the time. This preserved me for the distance and only around mile 8 I started getting tired, but it was managable - did not walk at all.
Took the gel after 1hr, drand all my water gradually - good idea, and Gatorade at the stations. What would you do differently?:
More gells, probably another 2.
Post race
Warm down:
Walk home 2.5 km.What limited your ability to perform faster:
Not enough training for this kind of distance and lack of motivation.Event comments:
Will do it again, like to run with a lot of people, the distance is a challenge and it is managable.
Running 01:40:00 | 10 miles | 10m min/mile Age Group: 0/ Overall: 0/5500 Performance: Good 152 all the way, more less- great practice. 5500 runners that definitely is a lot of company. I don't think there are that many runners in all of North Dakota.
