100d x 10m = 1 strong core

It seems like every tri related thing I've read lately preaches about the core--better rotation and strength in swimming, less fatigue on the bike, more leg drive and connection on the run.
It also seems like I have really started to blow off my core specific work since tri season has started. No bueno.
The challenge is pretty straight forward. 10 minutes of core work every day for 100 days. Simple.
Before and after pics might be fun, heavy emphasis on the "might" :)
Log your time in your training log, and try to check in with the group at least once a week. It would certainly be cool to use this thread to share your favorite core exercises, and again pics, links or vids are always nice.
Starting on Monday, June 24 and running through Tuesday, October 1st.

Best exercise for me (considering I've got HUGE back issues)... planks. Lots and lots of planks.

This is a good one for me to do ... I'm in!
I'd post pics but trust me .. nobody wants to see the marshmallow fluff that covers my semi rock hard core!
Planks don't do it for me cuz they hurt my hip and low back oddly enough, but I've many other moves that I can partake in and can share with y'all!

I had to join when I saw some of the others taking the challenge. I have to at least try, although it will be a bit of work on my part to get to the end. I need all the core help I can get.

Ugh. 10min is a LONG time for every day! Sheesh. I hesitantly say 'in' knowing I probably won't do a strict 10min every day? I don't know.
I am also a bigger fan of 'total-body' exercises and not just crunches and such. So, I might be counting some other exercises as part of my core work. I know I can really improve my planks though!
But, we'll see. Maybe I'll surprise myself!

10 minutes is a long time, but two 5 min sessions aren't bad, or some other break down. For the TV watchers, commercial breaks are ~2min, so they could do 5 commercial breaks worth.

We need to wrap up the handstand challenge! I keep thinking, OK, today I'll shoot some video, and then I have some big training session and I wimp out cause I don't think I can bring my A game. I'm a dork like that. I'm gonna keep doing the handstands though. They're awesome, and I can't believe how much better they got in a month:)
