Team Quintana Roo - Cinco de Mayo Mutisport Challenge
BY: MDHillSlug on 2009-04-30 10:20 AM
Welcome to the Cinco de Mayo Multisport Challenge!
Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "Fifth of May"
) is a regional holiday in Mexico, primarily celebrated in the state of Puebla, with some limited recognition in other parts of Mexico
(in the US it seems to be an excuse to drink Mexican beer and eat nachos; for me it's a convenient name for a challenge
). The holiday commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely defeat of French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of Mexican General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguin.

Hey all. My goals for the month: 20,000 swim, 300 bike, and 75 run. Going to be travelling for a week during the month
(20-25th
), so arranging everything to fit around that. Still recovering from IT band on one leg so it's still not going to be a 100mile run month.
-----
My training partners are Headwind and Tailwind. They haven't missed too many days.

Hi Todd,
75 miles is still way more than anything I'm capable of! I hope you're going somewhere fun.

Going to St. Louis for family and friends visit. Used to live there before moving to Vegas so always good to go back and visit people. First time since 2001 we've been back in the spring, it's usually Thanksgiving of Christmas. Will finally be able to see the zoo again when it's not freezing outside.

That looks like a pretty healthy load for the month. Good luck and I hope the IT band behaves!

I was shocked when I discovered that! I don't know what the relationship is between the Mexican state and the bike brand.

I might have to look that up. I'll admit I'm curious.

Tomorrow is scheduled to be a rest day, but I had to bail on 2 rides this week due to some horrendous rain. So it might be a makeup session
