Pushup challenge?
BY: krludwig on 2008-04-28 12:26 PM
Anyone interested in a pushup challenge for May? I'm not thinking of a formal challenge, with teams and all, but informal... unless enough people are interested and want to make it team vs. team.
I'm thinking to start at 50 for the first week, and add 50 per week, so my last week I'd be doing 200...

YAY!!! I was hoping someone would do this. I have no clue what my goal should be. Since I'm still working on doing ONE.

I'd like to be in on this, too. Do we set our own goals? -

I am in - how does this sound. Everybody do 1 maximum set tomorrow - we put that in the thread and then by month end whoever increases their max over the first day by largest % is the victor.
I tried figuring out the math to show increase but hey I am 41 and don't use math anymore so I forgot! Sorry all you math teachers out there.
I think I figured it out - you do 10 tomorrow then 25 at months end = 150% increase in your max. Is this correct?
Does this sound like a good way to do the challenge? That was we don't have to worry about a spreadsheet, but we can post our progress through the month!

I'm in - sounds like a great challenge!
I like this idea of how to do the challenge, but maybe we can do this and also set your own goal of total number for the month to track. The reason is someone who can do 5 now, can reasonably get up to 20 for a 300% gain. I can do 25 now, but I would need to get to 100 to match, and that ain't gonna happen!
So my idea is to post your max set now as you say, but also post what your goal is for the month of total number.
I would say my starting point is 25 for one set, and my personal goal is doing a total of 50/day for the month for a total of 1,500 (nice round number).

Good point. I busted out 35 today and my goal would be 3100 (100 per day) and I hope to get my max to about 55 or 60.
I hate pushups so I hope this works!
Who else is in!

So, we do a max set tomorrow and put in what are goal for pushups for the month is ?I did mine this morning, but yes tomorrow works and we can update during the month on this thread instead of doing a spreadsheet unless someone has great knowledge on how to share one on google where the other challenges were! Unfortunately that is not me!

Fifty pushups!?! Ha ha ha ha ..... That's funny! I did 5 pushups the other day and nearly passed out from the pain! I think I'll shoot for 6 pushups by the end of the month ... that would be a 20% improvement ...
