The trixie/matchman CUT THE CRAP challenge
BY: trixie on 2008-05-14 8:05 AM
Ok kids. This is it.
- no processed or refined sugars (unless training Accel gels, accelerade and the like are all acceptable)
- little to no processed foods.
- No fried foods.
One day a week you can have ONE MEAL that breaks all the rules. The winner has the fewest crap filled days. What does the winner get?? Who knows....I'll take suggestions.
starting today through the month of June. Who's in?

What about beverages? I have a wee, tiny, diet mountain dew addiction. Other than that, I think this would be a great challenge for me. (Tough, but necessary)

Oh boy I like challenges. Are things like, Organic Pop Tarts, considered processed? Those are a staple to eat before my workouts in the evening during the week! If those are acceptable, Im in -

So is a Clif bar ok if I'm sitting at my desk and not on my bike? I bet a quarter of my calories come from Zone and Clif and Lara bars at work.
I'm assuming bread is ok.
Coke is my new love. And I have dark chocolate everyday. Maybe this is why my bodyfat isn't in single digits

I would think it would have to be ww bread... without refined sugars.
I need to drop a bit of weight before my half-mary in June, and I think that this would be just the ticket. It'd be just the right reason to kick my sweet tooth to the door. (We are going on vacation the last week in June, though, and everything might go to h&!! that week. But we'll see.)

I'm in BUT, I've already had a soda before I found out about this challenge. And since we are having a cheat day, I guess I could essentially use this as my cheat day. ? Can you confirm?
I can't wait to drop some Lbs.. This won't be fun but we will all be happy in the end.

Diet Mountain is also my biggest addiction. I would think that would be ok. It is not processed sugar.
How about snacks ?? I guess nuts, beef jerky any other suggestions ?? -

B- this can be your cheat day or you can mark it as a loser day. remember, fewest loser days "wins"
kelly, I think that if it's strictly for training those nasty organic cardboard poptarts are ok.
diet pop is still processed crap, but honestly, if you have to do it....I'm not gonna come and kick your a$$ (mainly because I'm not sure where you live)
This is what Matchman and I are going to follow, if you need to tweak it to fit you, cool. I just want to be more aware of the crap that I am ingesting and I am curious about how it affects my performance as well as overall health.

I think I eat one clif bar a day. The wrapper says 21 grams of sugar. I would assume no more clif bars. -

DAMN!! that' s a lot of sugar but it all depends on where the sugar comes from.....is it just plain ol sugar or is it in the form of fruits and the like?? Big difference as far as I am concerned.

I'm interested. I really need to work on cutting out the processed food and refined sugar crap. The threat of Trixie coming to beat me up might just help.

I've got a plan, then. I'm going to cut down to one dt. soda a day, and that won't count towards my loser days. If I drink any more than that, the day is lost. I'm (sort of, in a twisted way) looking forward to this!

I had a Nutrigrain bar this morning (processed crap) but I'm on the wagon now!!
