Not that I approve of the tazing or anything, but his parents obviously never taught him that just because you are able to speak, it does not give you the right to say anything, anywhere, anytime in any manner.
Seems like they gave him a pretty low voltage with the tazer too.

I tend to think that most people deserve to get tased. But this guy was on the ground on his chest with 6 officers around him. Why was he not cuffed? Odd.
If they had tased him when he restrained walking to the back of the room, it would be a little more understandable, but he was under thier control when they finally tased him. Odd.
OK he needed to be tased but still odd. -

It was kind of hard to understand the audio. Did he ask Kerry a question that might make Kerry look bad? I thought I heard Kerry say he would answer the question though. I don't understand why you need to be tasered or "beat down" just for asking a question or getting unruly in a Q and A session. He definitely needed to be escorted out of the building, but that one cop sure did pull the taser gun out awfully quickly. Six on one and they still needed to taser him. Sounds like the police force needs a little more training in arrest procedures. I wonder if Cindy Sheehan had been treated similarly on Capitol Hill last week... well, she had a right to protest and this guy didn't. -

It is almost comical how people will act with a certain level of bravado when given a microphone, but once they realize their schtick aint funny and they are about to arrested, they sing a different tune. How different this could have gone down had he simply stopped jumping around like a Mexican Jumping Bean after the first two officers asked him to leave.
Plus, I don't know about you, but if someone is about to taser me, I wouldn't be calling them "bro."

I don't think this young man was tasered. I think they used the taser as a stun gun. You can remove the cartridge that has the probes in it and then use the taser as a stun gun. He kept saying ouch that hurts, if he was tasered I don't think he would have been saying unintelligible words if not screaming.
I have seen this incident from a different angle. It appears to me that a person in a business suit standing behind the kid instructed the officers what to do. The young man should have simply walked out with the officers and not gotten verbal and disruptive. He could have asked for an explanation out in a lobby area as to why he was cut off and he probably would have gotten one. Maybe not the answer he would have liked to have heard but I am sure he would have been told something.

Yeah, they should have gotten there batons out and beat him and then dragged his body out of the room.
He was being combative and wouldn't leave. They stun him and he leaves. The amount of force used was right on.

This guy was baiting them. He acted the exact same way the protestors on Capitol Hill acted last week. He even used the exact same words and phrases they used. I think he was trying to make a point and did. He never struck out at or presented a threat to anyone in the room. He should have simply been removed but the police force present did not appear to be competent enough to do so. His point was that we are not allowed to question the Democratic machine in public and expect to get an answer. -

He exceeded his time limit and was asking stupid questions. They cut his mic and he wouldn't shut up. They began to escort him out and he started to act like a bigger idiot. Better representation is out there to question the Democratic machine...or tool in Kerry's case. -

That was so f'in excessive it makes me sick. The guy even says he'll walk out on his own if they get off him. What WAS he being arrested for? Kerry even said he'd answer the question, and while the guy was being "chased" in the auditorium, you could hear Kerry in the background saying it was a very important question. -

They probably should've been able to get him out of there without incident, but he didn't help matters any by being belligerent. I don't think this was police brutality - - excessive maybe.
The sad thing to me is that this jack a$$ will now sue and probably get a settlement. He will then become some pseudo-celebrity that people want to interview.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion and I have no love for Kerry, but why not use that opportunity to ask a REAL question - - instead of making a farce out of the thing?
Now it's time to watch him go down again!

Reminds of the student at the UCLA library that wouldn't show security his College ID Card. So when they asked him to leave, he no and resisted their efforts to force him out of the library.....think he got zapped also.
He had the chance to leave, but.....he had to go ONE STEP BEYOND... Bbbzzzzzzttttt!

Even I think this guy was out of line.
I don't know why he didn't just stop and let Kerry answer the question. He was going to if the kid would've just shut up and calmed down. The security people at the U of F obviously have no idea what crowd control is about. Get these guys some training!

I don't believe this!?! This poor schlep asks Kerry if he was a member of the Skull and Crossbones Secret Society in college, not a very relevant question but not the most inflamatory question either. For this he is dragged off by a Nazi version of the Keystone cops and tazered ... and some of you guys think that is okay!?! I guess that freedom of speech only exists in democratic states ...

From the perspective of dating someone whose X is a veteran cop, with a lot of crack/meth/drug addicts, you have to keep HITTING them with the taser over and over before they'll even NOTICE they're getting zapped... that's how stoned their nervous system is.
Now I'll go look at the video. Interesting (looking at what 3558 posted). Very interesting. The guy rambled on too long, but the cops definitely over-reacted in this case.

Am I missing something? It didn't seem like he was dragged off for the content of his question but rather for his disrespect of the forum he was in. I admit I haven't read anything about this yet and just watched the video once, without being able to make out much on the sound.
Jeez, when one of my kids jumps around yelling like that (not often) I make them sit in their room until they calm down. How annoying. If I was in that crowd I would have been offering the cop fresh batteries for the taser. Shut up already, dude.

I'm so glad they put the smackdown on that young rabble rouser. Order, compliance and obeisance - that's what keeps our republic strong! Any dissent only makes us weaker. Especially noisy dissent - that is the worst. Freedom of speech only if it can be done quietly and politely!
