Ben is back to his old self...but seemed very much in a daze. I'm glad to see Locke and Ben in the same scenes together. To me it elevates the show to another level when those two are sharing screen time.
Those few minutes around the fire with Jacob said so much...and to me made last weeks episode make more sense. I had a strong feeling that Jack was going to step up...but would have been taken completely by surprise if it was Kate, Hurley or Sawyer.
Flocke is brutal...was not expecting him to be cutting throats...and Ben finally got his revenge on Widmore.
Is it me...or did Rousseau seemed to take a liking to Ben in the sideways world?

I'm making the call: Locke's surgery is a success & allows FLocke to escape to the Sideways World, which destroys the Island World. That's how I think this ends. -

Why was Ben able to kill Widmore? I thought that was against the rules? At least, that's what they said a few seasons back, after Ben visited Widmore late at night after Alex was shot. This part of the show confuses me, and I'm going to be really mad if they don't answer some questions about Widmore's motives. Why did he need to have control over the island?? Clearly he had a score to settle with the MIB/Flocke/Smoke Monster, so what was it and why?? What are the rules he and Ben spoke of (they seem akin to the ones between Jacob/MIB), and who put them in place/why were they there? What about the freighter and the crew he sent (including Miles, who is still around). What about his crazy white-haired wife who knew exactly what Desmond was up to in the Sideways world and seemed to be connected to both worlds?
I'm guessing we will see Widmore and Eloise again in the finale, probably at the same concert that everyone else will be attending. I am wondering though how Locke and Ben will end up at the concert independently of everyone else.
Juliet is definitely David's mom.
Also, Kate was crossed off the cave wall because she became a mother. This explains why Claire was crossed off and also why Sun was not on the wall- because they were all mothers. Although it is probably important that this did not necessarily take them off the list, as Jacob told Kate that she could still have the job if she wanted it. (So, technically, is Claire still a candidate??!)

Our local independent movie theatre is showing the finale live on Sunday on the big screen. I'm trying to decide if it would be cool to watch it in the theatre or if I'd just be annoyed at having to watch 3 hours of TV with 1,000 people commenting and talking through the whole thing. Even though some of my friends are going, I think I may opt to watch it at home so that I can scream at the TV in my own privacy.

x2 on the scenes with Ben & Locke and Ben being back to his old ways. I still wonder if he's known more than he's let on.
One thing that confused/bothered me... Flocke told Ben that if he did his killing for him, then he would leave and Ben would have the island to himself. Then later, he told Ben that he's going to destroy the island when he leaves the island. -

But it's not really Lock it just looks like him.I have happy with the progression of this episode. Desmond is starting to be kick azz

Trying to figure out if Richard was actually killed by Flocke....you didn't see him get thrashed, just carried away. For some reason I thought he couldn't be killed by MIB, but maybe I'm wrong?
Agree with Desmond's part, he's going to be a central figure in the finale I think.
So, did Ben actually have the flashbacks when Desmond was beating him? It looked like it started, but then they didn't go into it at all - I kept expecting Danielle to come to her senses and try to kill him. (It's also weird to see her with nice hair)

Everything is falling into place for the ending to work as I'd predicted last week (although I'm fairly certain everyone will be wrong in their predictions, including me).
The show ends with a scene very much like the first Jacob/MIB scene on the beach, except with Jack and Locke (or maybe Ben or Claire) in a standoff, with Ben/Locke/Claire talking about how much he wants to kill Jack.
Everybody else on the island dies, but the Sideways world becomes the real world, and they all live happily ever (Sideways) after. We never find out why there are two worlds, or what happens to the (now) Real World when people die on the island.
Not sure if Jack and whoever becomes the MIB get to live in the Sideways world or not.
ETA: On second thought, the MIB will be Claire. She and Jack are the only ones not paired off in a relationship, Kate is now a "mother," and like Jacob and the MIB, they are siblings. I suspect they will get to live in both worlds, but I'm not so sure about that.

Keep in mind he spent 3 years getting regular meals & working as a cook for Dharma, so it's not like food's been scarce for him. Plus, when a guy is that big he can drop 20 lb and you won't be able to tell. -

Cannot believe there is only 1 episode left and then that's it. Bummer!! I LOVE THIS SHOW!
Where's a girl to go for compelling storytelling?
I don't believe Ben is back to his old ways. I believe Ben hung around to learn as much as he could about how to stop MIB. Notice granola-girl's death scene; Ben learned that there is something about not speaking to MIB. Although, I don't know who is left that has not already spoken to MIB so I'm not sure how valuable this tidbit is.
ETA: Miles! I don't think Miles has spoken to MIB. And he's still alive. Looking forward to seeing what role Miles will play in the finale.

I am not sure that many questions were answered last night outside of the scene around the fire with Jacob. I will be disappointed in the finale if more loose ends are not tied-up ... there has been a lot of investment in this series over the years to have a Sapranos-type "Don't Stop Believing" finale.
As far as predictions go, I suspect that Ben is playing FLocke and in the end will turn "good" ... and that Jack dies in his attempt to be good/fix everything. The one that sacrifices themselves for eternity to take the role of protector of the Island will be the one person who paradoxically has been the one who has consistently acted only in their self-interest: Sawyer.

I agree as well. I just don't yet understand what is so important about the island that it needs protecting.

I loved Miles line last night..."I was living here thirty years before you and that was last week."
I guess this Sunday will culminate in all the cast members showing up at the concert. I'm wondering too how Ben and Locke will show up. Maybe Rousseau will invite Ben to the concert...Helen will have tickets and bring Locke. That's the only reason I could see them coming. I don't see the Kwon's showing up since Sun is still in the hospital. Maybe Claire will go with Jack and than go into labor.
Off topic...did anyone else notice the cereal box when Jack, his son and Claire were having at breakfast...'Super Bran.' Man...than will clean out your system.
