Saunders Subaru Victoria 70.3

Swimming in Okanagan Lake yesterday it is still quite cool. Leaving early Wednesday to drive to the island and get ready for the Victoria event this weekend.
Out of curiosity how warm/cool is Elk Lake? I see they're recommending neoprene swim caps for race day.
Anyone else going to be there this Sunday?

Did you do the Victoria race? How cold was the water? Looking at it for next year, but definitely not a fan of needing a neoprene hood.

I did the Olympic in Victoria June 15th. Elk Lake was really cold this year but not necessarily every year. We left Penticton and it was quite warm so we were really unprepared for how cold it was. Race morning I also made the mistake of getting in the water too soon before the start. By the time the cannon was fired my teeth were chattering. Race report here:

Really it wasn't too cold and if I had just entered the water later I probably would've been fine. I'd guess it was 16 or 17C. My wetsuit smelled pretty bad after the race. I really enjoyed the bike and run.
