Barrelman Questions
BY: Brodzki on 2014-03-30 11:18 AM
Thought I would start a thread where we can ask questions about the upcoming Barrelman in September
Will there be tents in the transition areas to change in?

Good Morning John and staff at Multisport
Would it be possible for you to keep us abreast as to how close we are getting for closed registration for this race
I am doing 2 back to back XTERRA races in August / September and would like to register closer to the end of August
Thanks in advance
Jean

Hi Jean,
Yes, I will do that. Currently we are around the 400 mark for entries. With 5 months to go it would look like we might see us hitting our first year cap of 1,000. I hope that helps.

Why can't i pick up my race kit in Welland? Why did you guys decide to make everyone drop off their bikes in Welland and then drive to the falls try to find parking and walk to table rock for kit pick up and"mandatory" meetings?

Initially we were thinking most people would want to go to the Falls to look over T2 and we also felt most people would want to get a hotel in the Falls. We are actually reviewing the process for Saturday. We may offer a choice for the mandatory meeting. One in in Welland and another in Niagara Falls at Kingsbridge Park, so people do not have to park and go to Table Rock. We want to make this as easy for you as possible.
We are also looking into the possibility of race kit pick-up on Sunday for U.S. based athletes, so those who live close by do not have to cross the border on two separate occasions over 24 hours. With that decision we will also allow race kit pick-up for CDN athletes who live close by.
There should be an announcement this week.

The MultiSport Canada team is very excited about Barrelman and the fact that over 600 athletes have registered so far. We have all sorts of news to share and you can expect at least one more update email before the final Pre-Race Report on Thursday September 18th. All of the news can be seen through the link on our home page

When we drop off the bike, how do we rack it without the race kit's stickers?

You will get your race kit stickers first at race kit pick-up in Welland, put them on the bike and go into transition. Does that answer the question?

Hi John,
I'm looking at getting back in the game for 2015 after a 3-4 year hiatus. Since there's no duathlon for the Barrelman, I was thinking the Bike/Run option. This is probably just trivial on my part, but, is there different finisher medals for the different race options in Barrelman or do they all say Swim/Bike/Run?
(Told you it was trivial.
