Today (July 6) is the Regina Beach triathlon. No other Regina races are coming up in July, but there are some races in the province.
July 13 - Police and Fire Games triathlon (Saskatoon)
Must be employed in police or fire related to participate, I think

July 20 - Boreal Off-Road Triathlon (Elkridge Resort McPhee Lake)

Training around Regina?
BY: Crazypop on 2008-07-06 10:51 PM
Anybody have any favorite Routes to train in the Qu'appelle Valley? I plan on doing a few Rides around...any roads that should be done???
Thanks in Advance.
Also thanks for the events, but ones too far and the other one, I can participate but would put me too much into work...which I am trying to get away...shop talk and all.

Depends what you are looking for...Highway 11 to Lumsden has some very respectable hills and then there are some nice rollers and a decent loop root past Craven to Silton and back to Lumsden.
The roads are not great, but there are shoulders and safe, if you keep your wits about you.
Others swear by the Road to Southey. Nice roads. Quiet. A good hill. But I've never done it.
My regular training route is Highway 1 from Regina towards Moose Jaw. Flat. Boring. Nothing to do but cycle and spit out bugs. But this is some of the best wind training you can do in the whole country in my opinion...my bike results this past weekend at the Morden Half Iron I think are testament to that.
Where are you anyway?

Thanks. I was in Fort Quappelle. But then I had too much labour to do at dads place so the after work workout turned into eat then sleep. Physical labour sucks! I would have tried to get out with ya but no internet where I was... nuts.
