Total Time = 56m 2s
Overall Rank = 53/728
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 10/76
Pre-race routine:

Protein shake at home; get ready and head to race. Set up shop then went to get my timing chips and had to go back to get "proof" of my number. Aye carumba! Anyway, I got there with plenty of time to set up and use the restroom (I'm glad to be prepared with my own TP).
Event warmup:

Lots of stretching. Swam about 200/300 yards.
Swim
  • 07m 28s
  • 437 yards
  • 01m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

My navigation was very good compared to some other swims I've had.
Transition 1
  • 01m 19s
Comments:

The transition area was very non-barefoot friendly, so I opted to put the shoes on at T1 and not keep them on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

I'm still about :30 too long in T1. Need to fix this.
Bike
  • 23m 15s
  • 8 miles
  • 20.65 mile/hr
Comments:

A shorter bike course helps my overall performance in that the bike is my worst of the three disciplines. Bridge seemed to go okay for me while the rest of the bike portion left me fairly comparable.
What would you do differently?:

Need more bike work!
Transition 2
  • 01m 4s
What would you do differently?:

T2 getting better, but still need to get sub-one minute.
Run
  • 22m 56s
  • 3.25 miles
  • 07m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

I don't know how I am 9th in the AG, but I'll take it! My time increased compared to the first race by about :30 but I attribute that to the trail.
What would you do differently?:

I need to breathe better.
Post race
Warm down:

Water! Stretching. Coffee.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I swam in an invitational swim meet yesterday.

Event comments:

There was a lot of discussion about the change of venue for the race, but I'm fine with it. Could use more volunteers though (bless them) and more rest rooms!
