Pre-race routine:

Solid breakfast about 2 to 2.5 hours prior to race, 32 oz of G2 on the way there (45 minute drive).
Event warmup:

Did some light running in the parking lot.
Swim
  • 05m 32s
  • 300 yards
  • 01m 50s / 100 yards
Comments:

Horrible way to start for a swimmer! I found myself walking at least 25 yards because I could walk faster than the people in front of me could swim. Finally started sprinting in the middle of the lane which I'm sure pissed some off but they said we could do it. Probably passed 12-15 people in the pool. I could have cut at LEAST 1:30 off my swim.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 1
  • 01m 50s
Comments:

Haven't started doing to flying mount yet. Put shoes/socks on at bike rack and jogged to the mount line, stopped, mounted, etc...
What would you do differently?:

Possibly wait for socks until after the bike.
Bike
  • 41m 22s
  • 13.8 miles
  • 20.02 mile/hr
Comments:

Good bike run! Only one mistake going down hill in the wrong gear about spun my legs off (140 rpm). Hard breathing/sweat but it didn't wipe my out.
What would you do differently?:

Check into HR monitor I can wear in the pool, thus have on when I hit the bike/run.
Transition 2
  • 01m 6s
Comments:

Pulled up to a stop and got off bike, ran it in. Haven't worked on the flying dismount yet.
What would you do differently?:

nothing.
Run
  • 26m 16s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 27s  min/mile
Comments:

Drank water twice, first time I got a mouth of air, painful. Took off sun glasses and hung on race belt, didn't need them.

Felt slight pain in my left hamstring from tendinitis. In therapy but doctor gave me the go ahead to race. More painful now that I've stopped, about to ice.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Tendinitis in left hamstring.
