PowerBar on the drive down, a GU an hour before, and a Roctane 20 minutes before.
Event warmup:

Ran about 2 miles with Tim, and then stretched hips and IT about 10 minutes pre-race.

Went out with the pack, and was running FAST!
What would you do differently?:

Maybe try to ease up a little at the start? I'm not sure. It was killer / fun.

Started the ride in 6th, and was only back in 13 at the turn-around. Then was passed by a big pack (including Ben, Sean, Jake, and Tim). Back in 21st at the end of the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Solid ride for my non-biking legs. I need to work on more hills before next weekend...

LOST A SHOE!! I decided at the last moment to try riding out of my shoes. It flew off when it scraped against the ground, and Chad May grabbed it for me.

I could NOT catch my breath from mile 0.25 to the turn-around. It was harsh. I pushed through it nicely, and kept at it.
