Pre-race routine:

Almost overslept. Grabbed my stuff and got going.
Event warmup:

Nothing.
Swim
  • 07m 31s
  • 274 meters
  • 02m 44s / 100 meters
Comments:

I swam a good race for me. I got into a good rythym early and wasn't bothered by traffic for most of the swim. I passed a couple of people and let someone go by me for the last 25 yards. I drafted off her all the way home.
What would you do differently?:

keep increasing my speed and stamina.
Transition 1
  • 02m 3s
Comments:

Pretty fast transition.
What would you do differently?:

go without socks.
Bike
  • 42m 26s
  • 13.8 miles
  • 19.51 mile/hr
Comments:

Damn, it was windy again. Very little relief, either. Had a Gu about 3 miles from T2. I'll do that again.
What would you do differently?:

I really want to get my avg. speed over 20 and was hoping to do so, today. I guess I should find and ride more hills for practice.
Transition 2
  • 01m 23s
Comments:

This was maybe my best T2. There was no one around me either, as I had left my rack mates far behind.
What would you do differently?:

nada.
Run
  • 24m 31s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

Solid run and I met my goal of averaging under 8s. I could have gone a little faster, but I left alot on the bike course. The wind didn't help here, either, but the guy with the music down at the far turn was awesome.
Also, it was great to turn the first corner and nearly run into Jill and the kids. I knew they would be waiting for me at the final corner, so I had that to look forward to. They were so cute, all sitting on the curb together.
What would you do differently?:

push just a little bit more.
Post race
Warm down:

quickly grabbed an orange, then a little bagel and water. Caught up with Jill and the kids.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

windy, muggy conditions.

Event comments:

Jack put on a good weekend event.
