Woke at 3am, had cup of coffee and granola bar. Bodyglided everything up, got dressed, headed out of Bonnett Creek resort at 4:10am with Doug & Christie. Got parked in EPCOT parking lot around 4:25 and headed to the R reunion tent but never met up with anyone else. Met up with Ernie on way to A coral, and started pretty close up with no problem. Spent the first 8 or 9 miles holding ernie back because he kept going too fast, and the last 3 miles pushing him along. He got 4th in his age group! (M65-69) My calves were shot afterwards for some reason, and my knees were tightening up the last few miles. Tomorrow's marathon is gonna be brutal (and I wanna run 7:27s to BQ!) Humidity was tough, but at one point, the slightest breeze felt like someone turned the A/C on. Every water stop I got 2 waters for Ernie to dump on his head and one for my head. I drank all 6 of my fuel belt bottles (lost 1). 2 contained perpetuem/gatorade, 2 contained hammer gel/gatorade/1 drop of gatorade, and 2 contained 1 drop of creatine and water. I took 2 enduralytes at the start and 2 at around mile 6 or so. I left my 6 drops of creatine/hammergel in a ziplock concoction in my checked bag and didn't get to take it in the corral like I planned. I'll just use it tomorrow. Loaded with race day boost as well. Got to pee in a bottle while sitting in the corral :-)
Was warm & humid enough, no warmup needed. Walk to corral and stretching.
