Swim
Comments: This was my first OWS with some serious chop. All my other OWS have been with calm waters. Trouble navigating, I could only breath every stroke, if I went to every third I would start to get quesy from the rough chop. What would you do differently?: More OWS time, even in rougher waters. Transition 1
Comments: Much happier with this T1. I felt much more organized. Bike
Comments: My time would have been MUCH better, but for some reason I stopped to help out a triathlete who was broken on the side of the road. Yes, she was cute, very cute. I thoght she had a flat and need a new tube or pump and was gonna throw her one. Well when I stopped she said she couldnt her chain back on. What was I suppose to do? Tell her bye? Nope, Well I fixed it and even managed to cut my finger. What would you do differently?: Not stop.... Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Not sure Run
Comments: Still having trouble getting my running legs after biking. At about 3 mile marker I was running good, and even taking back a few spots; however the damage had already been done. For some reason I felt a bit nauseated. Not sure why. Nothing new used today. What would you do differently?: BRICKS BRICKS BRICKS BRICKS Post race
Warm down: piece of watermelon and some water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Choppy water, stopping to help someone, BRICKS BRICKS BRICKS... Event comments: I thought the turn around on the swim got congested with swimmers going in both direction. Even noticed some people cutting the bouy short. Woke up 0530, took a quick shower. Loaded truck with all luggage, bike, etc. Went to the hotel breakfast buffet, had cereal, bagel and some milk. Went to McDonalds to get the daughter a Latte. Now off to Sterling State Park. Arrived, registered, set up transition, and waited for the race to begin (two rain/lightning delays).
A quick dip in the lake, and a lap around the parking lot on the bike
