Swim
Comments: Got kicked in the head early on and panicked in the water, took me a really long time to catch my breath. Never felt comfortable with the swim at all. Felt like I was making a lot of strokes but not moving very much water at all. I got passed a lot... Not a good performance at all in the swim. What would you do differently?: I have got to learn to swim better, I feel like I am not moving enough water. I and making good strokes but just getting past like I am sitting still. Was really upset with myself because I panicked and couldnt get my breath. Was ready to be done with the swim about 3/4 of the way. Transition 1
Comments: Had a good T1 Went to get on the bike and my chain was off!!! took me 2 mintues I think to get the chain on. Oh it was bad... lol The course started up on a hill so I didnt leave my shoes clipped in, I dont like running with my bike shoes on. What would you do differently?: I guess find out what I did to make the chain go off. Bike
Comments: Other than the biggining with the chain off my bike. I thought the bike ride was great till I hit around 15 mile and my right knee started really hurting. I thought a few times my knee was going to pop out of place. I think my shoe must be clipped funny because I have never had it hurt like that before, I really thought around mile 20 I would have to stop. When race was over was going to ride the bike back to the car and couldnt even do that. What would you do differently?: I need to check my chain or at least find out what I did wrong. I need to find out what is up with my shoe and it making my knee hurt. My other shoes (road ones) do not hurt my knee at all. Transition 2
Comments: took extra time because I had to put on socks since it was a 6 mile run. What would you do differently?: still need to get faster but was happy with it. Run
Comments: Felt good the first two miles and then really started having dehydration issues. Hit every water stand but felt like I could not get enough in my body. Had to walk several times, also had a few dizzy spells. Had one bitching of a sun/dehydration head ache during the last mile. Finished strong with last two miles. What would you do differently?: Not sure what cause my dehydration problems. Was unhappy with my walking but it beat a DNF Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: lol I just think it was one of those races. So I think I could have done a lot but I may not have been as prepared as I thought for a OLY. I really wanted to compete well but it just didnt happen. The crappy swim, chain, something up with my knee, and the water problems all made for a poor event but next time will be better. Event comments: Was too tough of a course, too hilly. The bike part was just dumb with a lot of stupid turns and turn abouts. Run was nice but was very hilly. Last updated: 2005-09-12 12:00 AM
