Swim
Comments: A little freaked out at the beginning, when I could see the depth of the water and the bottom. As soon as the water got more cloudy, I stopped panicking and just swam. Part of it may have been the lack of warmup too. What would you do differently?: Try to warmup first, and just relax and maybe even close my eyes if the depth is freaking me out. Transition 1
Comments: Transitions are always tough, but I felt okay about this one. What would you do differently?: Just keep trying to speed it up! Bike
Comments: Felt good about this- it was a challenging course, but I held my own and manaaged to pass a few serious competitors on the course. I would have liked to push it even harder, but 10th overall wasn't too bad. What would you do differently?: Pedal faster and harder! Instead of just doing this "for fun", really train for it and apply myself :) Transition 2
Comments: Always slow at this transition. Coming off of the bike, I'm usually breathing pretty hard. Actually felt pretty good on this one because of the downhill on the bike. What would you do differently?: Just quit hesitating and get started on the run! Run
Comments: Only two guys passed me on this run, one of which was an Oly participant, and the other was the 1st place guy in my AG! Tried to close the gap and catch up with him, but he was way too fast (he ran a 20 min 5k). Bummer. But I felt great about this run. Gave it full effort with no stopping for the run. What would you do differently?: Not alot. Would love to be able to run 20 min 5k, so I guess I could actually do some intervals to improve speed. Was focused more on LSD runs this season. Post race
Warm down: Finished and celebrated, with a great big smile on my face! What limited your ability to perform faster: It's always my mental unwillingness to push too far out of my comfort zone. Event comments: Loved participating in the Powell3 this year. Much better than being the race director! Last updated: 2009-11-17 12:00 AM

Hang out and BS with race staff and Randy/Wife, and just enjoy the weather.
No real warmup. Not any good opportunity to get in the water and swim before start.
