Total Time = 1h 26m 53s
Overall Rank = 133/205
Age Group = F30-34
Age Group Rank = 6/13
Pre-race routine:

Ate whole wheat bagle with cream cheese, glass of orange juice a few slices of orange.
Event warmup:

Biked 20 minutes to race
Swim
  • 11m 10s
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 14s / 100 meters
Comments:

Mass start, stayed to outside of main group. Ran and dove as much as I could for the start as the water was quite choppy. Pushed hard
What would you do differently?:

Go out harder and don't be as afraid of the mass start
Transition 1
  • 04m 7s
Comments:

Long run to transition zone - about 400 m.
Drank water and ate a Cliff block chew. Had some Gatorade.
What would you do differently?:

Need food on the bike so I don't waste time eating/drinking in transition zone.

Bike
  • 41m 25s
  • 20 kms
  • 28.97 km/hr
Comments:

Felt good on the bike. My back got a little tired/sore. Need to push harder. I could have gone faster but was worried about how I'd do on the run.

Was using rented bike from Road Fish bikes. Great bike and great service. Would rent from them again if I go down next year!
What would you do differently?:

Push harder on bike
Transition 2
  • 01m 2s
Comments:

Transition wasn't great. The guy ahead of me walked, so I couldn't run. My bike fell off the rack. I was really slow considering I didn't even have to change my shoes. Took time to drink and eat a Cliff Block Chew
What would you do differently?:

Take more consideration when racking bike.
Take hydration belt so I can eat/drink while running.
Run
  • 29m 10s
  • 5 kms
  • 05m 50s  min/km
Comments:

Okay run. Course was flat and easyl
What would you do differently?:

Could have pushed more. I felt good at the end of the race meaning I should have worked a little harder.
Have hydration belt with me.
Post race
Warm down:

Easy bike 20 minutes

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Held back too much. Need to push harder

Event comments:

I really liked the course. It is nice and flat. Great for a first race of the season. It was a hot day, but there was a fair bit of shade on the course. The drink stations only had water...gatorade would have been nice.
My only complaint was that the race started about 20minutes late. Not sure what we were waiting for.
