Swim
Comments: My older sister did the swim. She was substituting for my little sister (a swimmer). My older sister can do a 3:30 marathon but is not a competitive swimmer. She is a strong swimmer and did well. I t was great she was able to be a last minute sub. Transition 1
Comments: we all stumbled in transition - this was my first team tri - it is A LOT different in transition with a team. Bike
Comments: My little brother is trying to start exercising. He did a great job for his first competitive biking event. Transition 2
Comments: another slow transition - My brother ran into the cones and then I fumbled with my watch. Run
Comments: I signed up for this race to help my family get in shape and do a family thing. As the run started I threw my watch off frustrated. I wanted to see my mom at the 1.5 mile mark cheering me on as she had in the past. She was a member of this Y and a race volunteer for the race. She was really excited about my brother and sister doing the race to get healthy. She was excited the whole family would be there. She passed away last month. I cried as I passed where she should have been. I knew there was no chance to cross the line first but I ran hard for my mom. What would you do differently?: This is the first race of about 500 I can say: nothing. My goal was to be with my family. I was. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Tears Event comments: This race is very well run -the organizers are great - there are ample volunteers - the course is decent- tons of good food easy parking and a Chip timed kids race. Last updated: 2010-04-07 12:00 AM
